Buffalo "Liberty"

Friday, 30 September 2011.

"Liberty" was mentioned in Community Examiner - Enterprise but not in Bartlesville Buffalo Art, that is probably why I missed her on my hunting list. Anyway, I read that "Liberty" is also at the Centennial Plaza, which I understook as the Centennial Park where "Bartian & Fabulous" and "Woolaroc Wiley" are. How could I not see her? Maybe we didn't look at the right place of the Park. You can see a picture of "Liberty" on Bartlesville Buffalo Art.

I am wondering if this is "Liberty"? I saw her inside a shop, across the street, opposite to where "Woolaroc Wiley" was. Maybe she is under repair????? Or is this a new and unpainted bison?

Buffaloes, Here We Come!

Tuesday, 11 October 2011

When searching for information with respect to penguin "A Penguin Ornament" I read that Bartlesville had a buffalo project and that they have buffaloes displayed in the city, so I also gathered the locations of their buffaloes as well so as to hunt them when we went on our trip for the penguin.

One thing I noticed is that none of the 17 penguins (except "Magic") that we found did not have a name plate. Thanks to information in Bartlesville Buffalo Art and Community Examiner - Enterprise, I was able to put name to the respective buffalo.

I thought I had prepared well and that I had all the buffaloes that was mentioned in the above websites. When I got home and wrote my dairy, I realised I missed out 2 buffaloes:
(1) "Liberty", which was the first of the buffalo to be completed!
(2) I didn't check if the Arvest buffalo was already displayed.

Well..... at least I got most of them, I think. Most importantly, we enjoy the visit to Bartlesville! Nice city! And I can say "drive carefully, look out for the colorful buffaloes there".

Penguin "A Penguin Ornament"

Friday, 30 September 2011

Thanks, Abby, even though you don't remember the specific location of the penguin, but knowing that it is in Bartlesville helps!

So I googled for real estate offices in Bartlesville to enquire. I am lucky I got confirmation with the 2nd call. Funny the 1st office that I called is only 0.36 miles away from the penguin and they said they didn't see any penguin! The 2nd office that I called is 3.40 miles away and they immediately told me where the penguin is.

"A Penguin Ornament" is located outside Hood & Associates Building at 1821 Southeast Washington Boulevard, Bartlesville, OK 74006

There is no name plate and the business owner does not remember what her original name was. But they remembered that when they bought her she was decorated with jewelry. Correct me if I am wrong. My best match with the Tulsa Zoo Penguins on Parade 2002 is "A Penguin Ornament".
