Penguins, Where are You?

Monday, 10 October 2011

So I have posted all the 51 penguins that I found. What now? Well, if there are confirmations of any other penguins, regardless whether or not they are part of the Tulsa Penguins on Parade 2002, and permissions given, sure I would love to visit. Otherwise, that's it, for the time being. It has been fun and it would be more fun if we have our grandchildren with us!

Unless there are remarks as to what happened to them, the whereabouts of the following penguins are unknown.

"Dano" was located at a business park, at 4200 East Skelly Drive, Tulsa, OK 74135 - as per Tulsa Zoo Listing, but NO MORE. We had confirmation of his existence at that address before we went there, but alas we could not find him! Good thing, someone who happened to be coming out of the office building, where Dano was formerly sitting, told us that Dano is no more there, otherwise we would be wasting our time driving around the building park hunting for nothing! Dano was sold away last month (August 2011) and where he has gone to is unknown.

Happy hunting, Julie.

  1. The Conductor is in the zoo, although he may have been taken away for repairs because he was in bad shape last time I saw him.
Pink-Guin Think Pink used to be at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, but was put into storage.
Roger Houston belonged to Boeing who moved out of Tulsa. I'd bet it's in Chicago now, but I can't be sure.
What do you mean the Penguins died?

  2. The Conductor: I didn't list him above (as he was not in the Tulsa Zoo listing I had) - yes, I was told he is currently being repaired.

Roger Houston: Yes, I was told that he left when Boeing left Tulsa and where he went to is ??

Elements: I was told he was knocked down by a truck!

Funny Footwear: This is the message I received - Quote ...
the black and white penguin with the red bow tie and red sneakers was on display at the Great Plains Coca-cola bottling plant in Tulsa. Stolen and vandalized, it was recovered by police after a stint in the river. Back at the zoo, efforts were made to salvage parts of it to be turned into a different penguin, but it was determined to be too damaged to continue and scrapped.

Samurai Penguin: I was told he was creamed by a car!

  3. Party Penguin is privately owned, I have found his location and his owners were very nice in allowing me to take a picture. He is in their backyard next to the pool. They are currently trying to get into contact with the original artist to have him repainted.
